About
The Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) at Mississippi State University is a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) resource center hosted by MSU. The center provides business development, technical training, and one-on-one consulting to military-connected entrepreneurs who want to start, buy, or grow a small business. Services include:
One-on-One Business Counseling: Direct assistance from certified business analysts with market analysis, feasibility assessments, entity selection, and creating structured 5-year business plans.
Transition & Entrepreneurship Training: Hosts the SBA's Boots to Business (B2B) and Boots to Business Reboot workshops to teach transitioning service members and veterans the fundamentals of business ownership.
Financial & Capital Readiness: Helps entrepreneurs assemble loan application packages, evaluate financial projections, and prepare to present to banks, SBA lenders, or investors.
Government Contracting & Expansion: Delivers specialized guidance on securing veteran-owned small business certifications (SDVOSB/VOSB), participating in federal procurement, and mastering digital marketing.
