About
The Mississippi Balance of State Continuum of Care is a regional planning body dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness across 71 rural and non-metropolitan counties in Mississippi. To support vulnerable populations, they operate a Coordinated Entry System that assesses individuals in crisis and connects them directly to available shelter and housing resources. The organization coordinates rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing programs alongside ongoing case management for individuals and families. They also maintain the statewide Homeless Management Information System to track service needs, analyze housing metrics, and ensure efficient resource allocation. Additionally, their five regional coalitions coordinate local outreach, prevention services, and annual homelessness counts to effectively serve communities.
