About
Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter is a certified non-profit organization that provides comprehensive emergency shelter, advocacy, and supportive services for individuals and children escaping domestic abuse. Established in 1981, Care Lodge serves as a vital safety net in East Central Mississippi. Core offerings include:
24/7 Crisis Hotline & Emergency Shelter: Operates a confidential 24-hour helpline along with a secure, temporary residential shelter providing housing, meals, personal care items, and safety for victims and their children.
Safety Planning & Case Management: Works one-on-one with victims—both living in the shelter or remaining in the community—to create individual safety plans, establish career/housing goals, and coordinate supportive resources.
Legal Advocacy & Court Accompaniment: Assists survivors with filing Domestic Abuse Protection Orders (DAPOs), navigating criminal justice procedures, and attending court hearings.
Counseling & Youth Programs: Delivers individual and group supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and age-appropriate children's programs to help process trauma.
Community Education & Intervention: Conducts training for law enforcement, schools, and local employers, alongside running a certified Batterer Intervention Program aimed at breaking cycles of violence.
